Making Sense of the Bible

October 4, 2015 – November 8, 2015

Do you have questions about the Bible? Lots of people have questions like:

Is the Bible anti-science?
Why does God seems so violent at times in the Bible?
Why would Paul command women to “keep silent” in church?
Is Jesus the only way to salvation?
How does God view the LGBTQ community?
Is the Book of Revelation really a guide to the “end times?”

Starting October 4, One Church will dive into a six-week study of Adam Hamilton’s new book, Making Sense of the Bible. One Church will offer both sermons and One Groups, small weekly learning communities, to discuss questions people have about the Bible.

Week 1- Making Sense of the Old Testament
Week 2- Making Sense of the New Testament
Week 3- What Is the Bible For?
Week 4- The Bible and Science
Week 5- Special Guest Rabbi Shmuly Yanklowitz
Week 6- Wrestling with Issues of Sexuality and Relationships

One Groups

You can sign up for the One Group of your choice at the Info Center, and new One Groups start the first week of October. One Groups are an excellent way to meet new friends and grow in your relationship with Christ.

You can purchase your copy of Making Sense of the Bible online in time for the first week. Then, during each of the six weeks, you will meet new friends, watch a 10-minute segment on DVD, and then discuss a few questions about the reading.

Join us for a new series, Making Sense of the Bible, October 4- November 8.
